Effortless Backlinks vs ListingBott

ListingBott and Effortless Backlinks sell the same core deliverable: 100 directory listings, submitted by people rather than by a bot, with a report at the end. Despite the name, ListingBott is not an automated blaster. Their own FAQ puts it plainly: AI helps with the research, humans submit the listings.

So the comparison is not manual against automated. It is a much larger directory pool and a DR guarantee against a smaller vetted list at roughly a third of the price.

Our take

For the same 100 listings, ListingBott charges $499 and we charge €179. That is the comparison in one line, and nothing else on this page changes it as much as the price does. What the extra buys is real but narrow: a 12,000-directory pool to select from instead of our 200+, and a guaranteed domain rating increase for sites starting at DR 0 to 15. If you are a brand new domain and the guarantee is what lets you sign off the spend, take it. For everyone else, you are paying about 2.8x for a longer shortlist.

Full disclosure: we run this site, so read everything here knowing where we stand. We keep the facts accurate and tell you below when ListingBott is the better pick.

The like-for-like row is the last one that matches: 100 directory listings, €179 against $499. Exchange rates move, so check the conversion on the day, but the gap is wide enough that it does not depend on the rate. Two caveats in their favour. ListingBott advertises early-bird pricing at $299 and $399, so you may not pay list price. And their $99 monthly plan is a genuinely different shape from anything we sell: 20 listings a month, ongoing, which suits someone who wants a permanent drip rather than a one-off project.

Prices last verified April 2026.

Where ListingBott wins

A far larger directory pool

12,000+ directories in their database against our 200+, with new ones added weekly. If your product sits in an unusual niche where the mainstream directories do not fit, a bigger pool genuinely raises the odds of finding relevant places to list.

A domain rating guarantee for new sites

For sites starting at DR 0 to 15 they guarantee a minimum DR increase within two months, and keep working or refund you if it does not happen. We do not offer that, and for a founder who has been burned before, a guarantee is worth paying for. Read the conditions before relying on it, as guarantees of this shape usually have them.

Weekly progress updates

You hear from them each week during the publishing month rather than waiting for a report at the end. If you are reporting to someone else, or you simply do not like silence, that cadence is better than ours.

Blog backlinks on the top tier

Their $999 plan adds links from blogs at DR 30 to 77, which is a different link type from a directory listing and a useful diversifier. We sell directory submissions only, so that is a service we do not offer at any price.

Where Effortless Backlinks wins

Roughly a third of the price for the same 100 listings

€179 against $499. On a like-for-like order, the saving is most of the cost of the service. Unless the larger pool or the guarantee is specifically what you need, the extra spend buys you neither more listings nor better ones.

A vetted list, not a large one

200+ directories that we have checked, against 12,000+ that no one could realistically have vetted individually. Directory authority concentrates hard at the top, and beyond the first hundred or so the marginal listing is worth very little. A bigger database is only an advantage if the extra entries are worth submitting to, which is a claim about quality that pool size cannot make.

A person chooses your directories

Their AI does the research and a human submits. Ours is a person at both steps, matching directories to what you actually sell. That matters most at the edges: a local service business and a developer tool should not receive similar lists, and category fit is exactly the judgement that selection software tends to get wrong.

One price, no tier you have to reach

Our top plan is €179 and it includes the full 100 listings. Their equivalent is $499, and the plan above it is $999. If you want everything we sell, you pay our highest price, which is still less than their lowest one-off order.

The honest answer

ListingBott is a real service doing real work, and the name undersells them: humans submit every listing, the reporting is more frequent than ours, and the DR guarantee is something we do not match.

The difficulty is the price. $499 against €179 for the same 100 listings is not a small premium, and the two things it buys, a larger pool and a guarantee, help a narrow set of buyers. A brand new domain that wants the guarantee has a real reason to pay it. A niche product that cannot find relevant mainstream directories has a real reason to want the bigger pool.

Outside those two cases, you are paying roughly 2.8x for a shortlist drawn from a longer list, and the listings you end up with will look much the same, because the directories worth submitting to are the same directories for everyone.

Which should you choose?

LChoose ListingBott if:

Your site is at DR 0 to 15 and the guaranteed DR increase is what makes the spend signable, your product is niche enough that a 12,000-directory pool beats a vetted 200, or you want blog backlinks bundled with your listings.

EChoose Effortless Backlinks if:

You want the same 100 hand-submitted listings for roughly a third of the price, you would rather have a vetted shortlist than a large database, and you want a person choosing which directories fit your product.
